About

Gettysburg is the seat of Adams County, PA, and its rich history predates even the Civil War. Established in 1786 by a man named James Gettys, the town had its start as just a simple tavern. It quickly grew, and by 1860 Gettysburg was home to 2,400 citizens. Today, Gettysburg is home to over 7,500 citizens and is famous across America as the site of the immortal Gettysburg Address delivered by President Abraham Lincoln in 1863 amid the historic Battle of Gettysburg.

The Old Gettysburg Village was once a series of shops and attractions that was created starting in the 1950’s by several of the notable Gettysburg entrepreneurs for the tourists to visit. The Old Gettysburg Village was once home to attractions such as a “President Lincoln” one-man show, a track with horse and carriage rides, and the famous Soldiers National Museum owned by late Hollywood Star Cliff Arquette. Today, these shops are in the process of being converted into eight spacious, well-appointed apartments, fully finished with all of the contemporary features expected by renters but tucked into a unique historic setting.
